A Meditation: Do Not Be Deceived By Evil
This is a message my teacher shared at the end of class, which I added as a voiceover to some of the exercises we did that day with the weighted ball.
To the complex trauma survivors reading this: I have no doubt that you have faced difficult experiences and perhaps witnessed some of the world’s greatest evils. However, don't let evil deceive you. Goodness always triumphs over evil.
The next step is to avoid letting it distract you as well. This may require effort, but continue to remind yourself of the blessings that are present in your life. There is always another sunrise.
I appreciate how my teacher distinguished between the words "deceive" and "distract" in relation to evil. I truly value my teacher’s insights and will continue to absorb each message with an open mind and heart. ♡
Reflect: What specific situation, memory, or theme related to evil have you been thinking about lately? How are these thoughts deceiving you rather than just distracting you? It’s perfectly normal to contemplate these issues. However, what active steps can you take to shift your focus toward the blessings in your life to help counterbalance those racing thoughts?
