Chronicles of a young woman who left everything behind and moved to a little cabin in the countryside to regain the freedom she had in childhood.

Simple Cardio Warm Up
When it comes to cardio, it’s not always necessary to go super intense and fast. Starting with a slow, simple warm-up to get the heart rate going offers great benefits!
Follow Along With Me: Two Hip and Back Opener Exercises (2 min)
In this short video, my teacher explains two different hip and back opener exercises. Feel free to try them yourself; they’re not too difficult!
Follow Along With Me: Futuristic Tabata Stretch (4 min)
“Tabata” simply means: 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest. Join me in this slow Tabata stretch with me! You’ll feel really loosey goosey afterward!
A Meditation: Do Not Be Deceived By Evil
To the complex trauma survivors reading this: I have no doubt that you have faced difficult experiences and perhaps witnessed some of the world’s greatest evils. However, don't let evil deceive you. Goodness always triumphs over evil.
“Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” Dance
If you’re feeling lost on your path, what is stopping you from digging deep to discover who you want to be?
Boxing Exercises (With A Buddy!)
These boxing exercises are great for releasing emotions stored in the body!
“What If There’s Nothing Wrong With You?” Meditation
This reflection is from the beginning of my healing journey this summer. My teacher created a personalized meditation just for me, which was completely unexpected. It felt incredible. Usually, I tend to zone out during meditations in group yoga classes, but since I was the only one who showed up that day, she wrote a meditation tailored specifically for me. It’s little things like these that are the best gifts on my journey!
My Happy Place
How many times in your life has someone asked you the question: “What’s your happy place?” I’ve been asked this question numerous times throughout my life. Whether it was an essay prompt in grade school or a therapist’s attempt to calm me down during my frequent panic attacks, I’ve often had to ponder my “happy place.” However, I never really had a clear answer, which made me feel like something was wrong with me.
“The ABCs of Gratitude” Activity
In class, we played a game where we each chose a letter of the alphabet and listed things we are grateful for that start with that letter.
5am Group Exercise
A few mornings each week, I participate in a 5am group workout focused on strengthening and toning. It’s incredibly motivating to complete it this early in the day!
“Start Nowhere” Dance
For me, there is truly no greater freedom than embracing simplicity and minimalism so I can focus on the things that are truly meaningful to me. Sometimes you just gotta “start nowhere” and realize that each day is an opportunity for a fresh start. ♡
Journaling Under the Gazebo
Journaling before my day starts helps me to get in a good mindset for the day. ♡
Small Town Fall Festival
I had such a fun time getting out on a Saturday morning with my sweet friend and her little boy for the Small Town Fall Festival! We went on a hayride, hung out with the animals in the petting zoo, and looked at some of the gardening projects.
Mornings on the Mat
I've been practicing yoga almost every morning. I either attend a scheduled group class or do yoga on my own in my cabin. It's been a great way to start my day, getting my body moving and helping me set my daily goals and intentions.
Thirty Minute Midday Writing Break
One of my favorite (and most helpful!) activities during my healing process has been writing down my thoughts with pen and paper. I simply write, write, write… no matter how nonsensical it may seem. I express whatever is on my mind, putting away all distractions. (Especially those tempting little handheld devices!)

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
~ Henry David Thoreau
